About this event
The UK Government’s last energy White Paper may not have defined clear actions to address the country’s impending power generation gap, but it certainly opened the debate about the future methods of providing clean, sustainable and reliable supplies of electricity to the Country. The presentation will look at the detailed analysis conducted by PB Power in support of the White Paper, and will compare its findings with some of the other forecasts of cost for renewable electricity: it will conclude by attempting to envisage future energy supply over the next 50 years including such elements as domestic-scale renewables and nuclear fusion.
About the speaker
Ian Burdon is responsible for directing all activities within PB Power on sustainable energy developments including renewable energy, energy from waste, advanced energy technologies, such as gasification and pyrolysis, and low and zero-carbon "clean" energy technologies. He is a founding member of the Energy Leadership Council in North East England and is a member of the Technical Advisory Panel of the New and Renewable Energy Centre (NaREC) at Blyth in Northumberland
